miranda

the past two days have been great. i didn't get in from lily's until really late last night (and on a school night as well - tut tut!) having had chinese (i seem to have had this a lot recently... strange, i'm normally a taste of bengal kinda girl....) and today is a friday which is always a good thing.

now for a nerdy bit:
in english today we started to analyse the collector by john fowles properly. i didn't realise i could feel this way about a book - the way that it's written and the way that fowles has crafted the characters is truly amazing - even the name of the miranda has been thought about (it means she who must be admired / out to be wondered at - how appropriate!) this book made me stay up til three in the morning to finish and i am SO glad that it's one of our set texts. if you haven't read the collector i highly recommend it, it's published by vintage.

photography this afternoon was great. i got duncans 35mm olympus to work which made me super happy. i just got it out my bag to tell you some interesting things about it and you'll never guess what it has written on it!!! underneath the main lens is the word "miranda" - WHAT A COINCIDENCE - in the same day AND blog entry too. wow. it's at times like these i truly feel as though our lives are already mapped out for us from birth, but i'm not gonna get all philosophical on you now.

mum is at the hairdressers atm and i've taken full advantage of wifi in the breakfast room and the loud kitchen stereo. we've only just got lungs by florence and west ryder pauper lunatic asylum despite me being a florence fan since dog days and kasabian follower ever since empire but even more so since the geniosity that is underdog and clubfoot.

i'm really glad i've started this blog. i never expected this to become a "great source of comfort" as anne frank hoped hers to be, but it has. hopefully i'll be going out for thai green curry later (my favourite food, aside from a treehouse steak)

until next time.

fact # 15
i sometimes get the feeling i was born a generation too late.
